Use the Etherpad template in Server Compass to deploy a self-hosted collaborative text editor on your VPS, then verify the pad creation page loads.
Select the tutorial-vps VPS, open the Apps tab, and start a new app deployment. Keep sensitive server details hidden before capturing or sharing screenshots.

Click New App and choose the template deployment path so Server Compass can load the built-in catalog.

Use the template picker search to find Etherpad in the Server Compass template catalog.

Choose the Etherpad template. Server Compass fills the Etherpad service, PostgreSQL service, admin password, database password, and public web port.

Confirm the app name and compose service. In this run, the app was named etherpad-demo and used host port 4104.

Review the generated compose settings, confirm the Etherpad web port is available, and click Deploy.

Keep the deployment modal open while Server Compass uploads the compose file, pulls the Etherpad image, starts the container, and verifies the stack.

After deployment finishes, return to the Apps tab and confirm the Etherpad app is marked Running with its application URL available.

Open the application URL in a browser. The Etherpad start page confirms the collaborative editor is reachable.

The Etherpad web interface loaded successfully from the deployed container.
It deploys Etherpad with PostgreSQL, a persistent editor data volume, and an admin password.
The tutorial used host port 4104, which maps to the Etherpad web UI inside the container on the same generated port.
Create a harmless test pad, then open `/admin` with username `admin` and the configured admin password if you need to manage settings or plugins.
No. The deployment guide should live on the Etherpad template detail page and be linked from the reusable template deployment docs page.
