Deploy StreamFlow on a VPS with Server Compass

Open the server Apps tab

Select the tutorial-vps VPS, open the Apps tab, and start a new app deployment. Keep sensitive server details hidden before capturing or sharing screenshots.

Choose an app template

Click New App and choose the template deployment path so Server Compass can load the built-in catalog.

Search for StreamFlow

Use the template picker search to find StreamFlow in the Server Compass template catalog.

Select the StreamFlow template

Choose the StreamFlow template. Server Compass fills the StreamFlow service, persistent volumes, generated session secret, timezone, and public web port.

Review the StreamFlow settings

Confirm the app name, generated SESSION_SECRET, timezone, and compose service. In this run, the app was named streamflow-demo and used host port 4234.

Review the generated compose settings, confirm the StreamFlow web port is available, and click Deploy.

Watch the deployment progress

Keep the deployment modal open while Server Compass uploads the compose file, pulls the StreamFlow image, starts the container, and verifies the stack.

Confirm StreamFlow is running

After deployment finishes, return to the Apps tab and confirm the StreamFlow app is marked Running with its application URL available.

Open StreamFlow in the browser

Open the application URL in a browser. The StreamFlow login or dashboard confirms the platform is reachable.

  • Log in with the documented bootstrap credentials if the image ships them, then change the password immediately.
  • Configure RTMP destinations for YouTube, Facebook, or custom streaming endpoints.
  • Upload or select a media source before scheduling a test stream.
  • Put StreamFlow behind HTTPS and restrict dashboard access before using real streaming keys.
  • Back up the streamflow_db, streamflow_logs, and streamflow_uploads volumes because they store configuration, logs, and uploaded media.
  • Keep the StreamFlow image updated for dependency and security fixes.
