After CloudBeaver Opens

  • Do not expose CloudBeaver directly to the public internet without HTTPS, strong database credentials, and an additional access-control layer.
  • Use a VPN, IP allowlist, or authenticated reverse proxy for production database administration.
  • Register only intended database servers inside CloudBeaver and store database credentials carefully.
  • Keep the CloudBeaver image updated for security fixes.
  • Use least-privilege database users instead of superuser credentials for routine administration.

Verified Result

The CloudBeaver web UI loaded successfully in a browser.

CloudBeaver deployment questions

What does the CloudBeaver template deploy?

It deploys the CloudBeaver container with a persistent `/opt/cloudbeaver/workspace` data volume.

Which port did the tutorial use?

The tutorial used host port 8978, which maps to the CloudBeaver web UI on container port 8978.

Why does the browser verification stop at the first web UI screen?

A fresh CloudBeaver deployment is considered reachable when the initial setup screen loads. The tutorial does not create or publish an admin password.

Should this become a blog post?

No. The deployment guide should live on the CloudBeaver template detail page and be linked from the reusable template deployment docs page.

Why Self-Host CloudBeaver?

CloudBeaver is a web-based database management tool supporting PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and more. Self-hosting gives your team a shared database admin interface without installing desktop clients or exposing database ports.

CloudBeaver vs Alternatives

CloudBeaver vs PgAdmin

PgAdmin is PostgreSQL-only. CloudBeaver supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and many other databases in one interface.

CloudBeaver vs phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin is MySQL-only. CloudBeaver provides a modern UI supporting multiple database types.

CloudBeaver vs DBeaver

DBeaver is desktop-only. CloudBeaver provides the same multi-database support as a web application accessible from any browser.

Why Deploy CloudBeaver with Server Compass?

Server Compass deploys CloudBeaver on the same Docker network as your databases, enabling internal connections without exposing ports. Team members access it through the web — no desktop client needed.
